About Oliver: Oliver Platz is admitted to practice in New York, the Southern District of New York and Germany. Oliver serves a diverse client roster. He works with start-ups, technology companies, and small and midsize US and European companies. His focus is intellectual property law. Oliver negotiates and drafts licensing deals, handles trademark applications and their prosecution and can help you with other IP matters outside of patent applications. Oliver has assisted clients with IP enforcement, he has negotiated sales of intellectual property assets, worked with valuations, software licenses and business deals with an IP component.
Before starting platz-ip, Oliver worked for Davidson, Davidson & Kappel, an intellectual property law boutique in New York City for over five years. His previous experience includes working at Allen & Over in Frankfurt am Main, the law firm of Heufelder Kähler Mohn in Frankfurt am Main, and the Business & Legal Affairs and the Corporate Strategy Departments of BMG in New York. Oliver graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law with an LL.M. He has a law degree from Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. During his studies in Frankfurt he spent a year studying law at Leicester University in the UK.
