Lehigh Valley Celtic Music Group Pages

For all lovers of Celtic music:

This meetup group is a community effort: Please visit our web-based public calendar at www.LehighValleyCeltic.com, for the events we know about in and around the Lehigh Valley.

Yes the Lehigh Valley is Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton --- but those of us who love the music will gladly travel up to an hour (or two?), roughly west to Kutztown and Lebanon, east to Clinton-NJ, north to the Poconos, and south to Philly.

NOTE: Philadelphia has a very active Celtic music scene and we highly recommend www.IrishPhiladelphia.com to find out what all's happening there.

If you know of an event that is not yet listed on the calendar, please email a link (web address) to info(at)lehighvalleyceltic.com to provide us with the necessary details for a calendar entry.

The music events you will find here and on the www.LehighValleyCeltic.com web-calendar will be, to the best of my ability, family-friendly and embody the spirit of Irish and Scottish traditional music. There will be a lot of sessions and public events featuring local musicians - as well as concerts by well-known touring and recording musicians.

What is a "session," aka an "Irish music session" or "seisiún"? Essentially it is a casual gathering of musicians playing Irish music. People are welcome to come to enjoy the music, but the focus is entirely on the music and the collaboration in the moment between the musicians. It feels like a room full of friends enjoying music and conversation and friendship. It is not a concert performance where the musicians focus on entertaining a non-participating audience.

This Meetup group and the web-based calendar are a labor of love, free to all. The more of us who attend these Celtic music (Irish and Scottish music) and cultural events, the more likely the venues are to host more of them.

Email me at info(at)lehighvalleyceltic.com with events you know about so we can do our best to share them with others who love this music and we all win!

Good music, good companions, food & drink - the best life has to offer!

We hope to see you often!
