Smart, funny, and profoundly melancholy. That’s the film, not the Meet Up group! The Coen brothers' wildly accomplished new film describes a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the New York Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. This American comedy-drama film written, directed and edited by Joel and Ethan Coen has received great reviews. I like the cat too.
Newcomers are very welcome. Meet in the Phoenix café/bar area at about 5pm. I’ll find a table and put a sign up for Meet Up.
If you are new to this or not been to the Phoenix, it’s free seating inside the cinema, you just buy a ticket on arrival about £7.50 and find a seat when we go in. Easy peasy. You can even take your bar drinks in to the film.
Film Running Time is 104 mins. The Exchange Bar is close by for anyone who wants to go for a drink afterwards. Could be a nice way to end the Valentines weekend.
