Metropolitan Ministries Red Apron Orientation

Metropolitan Ministries serves over 30,000 families in their Holiday Tent every year, providing holiday meals and toys for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Holiday Center is so much more than providing food and toys to struggling families, it is a time when the community comes together and brings hope to those who need it most. The past few years have been especially difficult for many people in the Tampa Bay area, and this is a great way to Lend a Hand for a big impact!

This amazing undertaking is possible only because of the volunteers who help run the operation. Each year I have the privilege of helping out as a "Red Apron". Red Aprons serve as leaders in the Holiday Tent, providing support for staff and direction for other volunteers. With expanded operations, they need Red Apron Leaders now, more than ever, to provide the same quality of service to more families. You can choose to work as few or as many shifts as you can.

There are two orientations for Red Apron volunteers. If you think you might have any interest in being a Red Apron this year, please attend one of these orientations. Also, feel free to share this with anyone you know who might be interested!

I enjoyed meetup very much. It was organized and presentation was well-done. Speakers at the event explained very well all events that Red Aprons could sign-up for.

Team, here's a little more information I learned last night. They will ask you to fill out a form with your preferred areas to work, they will go over those areas later in the presentation. They will ask you to note your availability on a calendar, you can fill in as much as you choose. They are asking for a commitment of at least 5 shifts. They will also take your photo. Enjoy the orientation!
