Unfortunately I can't make it. Today is Microsoft Tuesday which means plenty of frantic reverse engineering and late night debugging. I was hoping to finish it off before 7 pm, but it seems like I've got to stay longer. Sorry folks.

If no other meetup topic is suggest, how about "Pascal's Mugging"?

For the theoretically inclined, Nick Bostrom's Infinite Ethics paper might provide an interesting read.

In practice, I think it would be worth discussing events of low probability, high impact and/or unknown utility, both personal (e.g. having kids, becoming rich) and societal (e.g. existential risks, PRISM/dystopian society) and whether the time and effort we spend on each are commensurate with their expected utilities.
