Harris Lass Museum Afternoon Tea and Vintage Fashion Show

Sunday, June 8, 2014 - Afternoon Tea & Vintage Fashion Show, 1 to 4 pm

The lovely, shaded garden of the Harris-Lass Historic Museum will be the setting for the tea and a vintage fashion show.  Guests will be served tea, scones, finger sandwiches, fruit, and pastries. Guests also will enjoy a vintage fashion show featuring costumes and dress of the 19th and early 20th century, presented by actors from History San Jose’s renowned “Portraits of the Past,” who take on the roles and model the clothes once worn by actual pioneers from Santa Clara Valley’s past.

I cannot believe this, I just talked to Marie and she said we can get 6 more tickets, if we act right away. We will then fill 2 tables of 8. For the first 10 who RSVPed, we have paid for our tickets and I should be getting them in the mail in the next week or so. What I have done in the past was arrive early and meet each attendee at the entrance and hand you your ticket as you arrive. If you would like your ticket ahead of time, no problem at all. Just send me self addressed stamped envelope and I will mail your ticket(s) right out. Stephanie Thompson, 7032 Cherry Chase Way, San Jose, CA 95139.

This event will sell out. Tickets for this museum fundraiser are $30 plus $2 meetup and $1.26 amazon payment fees. Your ticket also may be saved and used as a pass to return at a later date during regular museum open hours for a private tour of the beautifully appointed Harris Lass House.

Tickets will be available in April. Carpooling to and from the caltrain station in SJ, mention interest when RSVPing.

Maria of Harris Lass asked me to inform attendee's not to park in the Museum parking lot, street parking is available. Carpooling is recommended. The table is reserved in the name of Stephanie Thompson and will have a number on it.

Let's Go to Afternoon Tea attended in 2009, 2011 and again in 2012. Consensus was that this event was a good value. The Fashion Show blew us away - as those of you that attended will remember. Tea was served on the lawn under canopies. The program lasted about 3 hours. There were lots of door prizes and the gift shop is open. This is an event to wear tea finery including a hat, if you'd like to!

Note to Stephanie:
Maria[masked]-3822. Send a self addressed stamped envelope to HPSSC, PO Box 3311, Santa Clara, CA  95055-3311. Put the word TEA on the outside bottom left of envelope. They will send my tickets to me in the envelope. April-ish time frame.

    Hi Ladies of Table 9-

I found out that they did have a microphone system, but it konked out on them right before the tea. It was a lovely day and food and company were great! Thanks for arranging this for us, Stephanie.

Ladies, it was wonderful to see everyone, especially the new folks today. I am so enthralled with the fashion show each time we attend. Yes, it was bit toasty, I felt wilted by the time I got home. Some of my photos were too bright because of the sun, I apologize for not having gotten a photo of everyone to post.

Hi Stephanie, is it still a go for J.K. and I to catch a ride to the event with you? Perhaps meeting at the cal-train station?
