11 Point River Float and Camping Weekend

This will be a joint meetup with our friends at NWA hiking.  I'm asking all TAH members to RSVP on both sites so that you can keep up with the plans.

Join us for a weekend of floating and camping on the 11 Point River!

We'll camp Friday and Saturday night and float Saturday and Sunday. Friday night we will camp at the Greer Crossing Recreation Area. The campground is located on the right side of Eleven Point National Scenic River. A map will be provided to give detailed directions. There are 16 single and 3 double mowed sites which offer seclusion and privacy, each with table, fire ring, and lantern post.

Fees for Greer Crossing Recreation Area Campground are $10 per single and $15 per double campsite/ night and are paid at the fee tube. Campsites are first come first serve. There isn't a fee for camping at the primitive campsites along the river.

We will get in the water Saturday morning and float to our riverfront campsite. Bring all of your camping necessities with you on the float. We will not have access to our vehicles Saturday night. Bring plenty of food and water. Do not bring any glass with you on the river. This is a regulation that is enforced. Have a floatable coozy for your cans. Make sure to bring straps for your coolers and gear in your boat. This is an adults only outing.

Outfitters:

Richard's Canoe Rental, Alton Mo.,[masked] for those who need to rent a canoe or kayak.

As always, campers and floaters do so at their own risk.

Great joint float/camp at 11 Point! NWA provided the Planning and Organization and TAH provided the Girls and the FUN! (Okay, you guys are fun too!) Special thanks to Ellis for putting this one up so that TAH could jump on board. We floated, camped, played limbo and rubber ducky jump rope. Carlos taught us dance moves for both the dance floor and for above the dance floor. (You had to be there...) Great times, great people.

Two nights camping and two days paddling/floating is worth it! I enjoyed the stops on each springs. Great group as usual!

Hey Carlos! Dry sacks are the key. You can ride with me. I'm going to be in a canoe and can take some of your gear if you have too much. Do you want to leave Friday night or get up way early Sat morning?
