The Levine jazz jam is an opportunity for musicians of any age and proficiency to experience jazz from the inside. In a fun and structured environment facilitated by Levine jazz faculty members, musicians will get a chance to play and improvise on well-known jazz standards.
Jam sessions are a musical environment that everyone regardless of skill level can benefit from and enjoy. Students of all instruments, ages, and skill levels are welcome. All you need to do is come out and play! These jams are $5 at the door (or time of RSVP) for students not currently enrolled in Levine, folks who just want to listen and observe are welcome as well.
This jam will cover common tunes, ensemble concepts, and jamming. We will have some charts on hand, but students are encouraged to bring their own Real Book and suggest tunes to the group! Amplifiers, pianos, and a drumkit are provided.
It is not too late to sign up for group classes at Levine, include Jazz Theory, Jazz Improvisation, and both small and large jazz and rock ensembles for adults and youth. For more information, please email Gary Prince ([masked]) or see
