January Luncheon

Happy New Year, y'all.  Time to have our first luncheon of the new year.  Because I was just assigned a new CASA case just before Christmas, I haven't had time to talk to Joe about some of the issues that have arisen lately (like not telling me that he would be CLOSED on the 26th! as well as addressing the service problems we had at the last luncheon).  My plan is to talk with him today or tomorrow about our concerns. I would like to give him  a chance to remedy these problems since we have been pretty satisfied in the past with Luce's.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I had a great time at the luncheon. By the time I left it was time for dinner. I had an opportunity to meet and talk to new ladies.

Enjoyed myself immensely and met some delightful people. Several important issues were brought to everyone's attention, which is helpful. It was mentioned at my table that the arrangement should be spacious enough to move about and network not only to become acquainted but also to expand our ideas

In regard to the debacle with last month's luncheon, I did some problem solving with Alice and Douglas this past week (Joe was still in Italy.). One of the identified problems was the inexperienced young lady working with Douglas; from now on, we will have two experienced wait staff each of whom will carry their own weight (no pun intended). Secondly, right at noon, Douglas will have the floor to announce the specials, and then he and the other staff will begin to take orders. That will give us time to visit and take care of any business while the food is cooking. Another option to be considered for the February luncheon is that we have a more limited menu comprised of the most frequently ordered items from the main menu. That would speed up the kitchen and get our food to us in a timely manner. I'd like to hear from you all about that idea.
That being said, I will miss you guys, but hope to see you at happy hour on the 23rd or at the luncheon in February.

Ladies, something has come up, and I will be unable to attend Thursday's luncheon. I have asked Pat Ireland to take care of the name tags, and I am trying to get hold of Trish, who is the co-organizer, to do the introductory talk for our new members. Although, as I look at the RSVP's, I realize she is not on the list. Darn! She may have just forgotten because she usually responds one way or the other. Anyway, I will have all the bases covered in time.

If I'm not mistaken, we only had one waiter, Doug, and one young woman server. It just wasn't enough wait staff IMO. Also Wendy and I ordered early since the previous luncheon Wendy had to leave before the food was served. And, even with ordering early, we did not get the food before it was time for Wendy to leave. I think we should order first, and have our meeting stuff while the kitchen is cooking. JMTC.

And Sharon, I too want to thank you for all you do.

Sorry I will have to skip the luncheon this month. Thanks so much for your hard work, Sharon, for LLWL and in the community!

Looks like my first chance to attend must be postponed. Am having extensive foot surgery on 1/8 and will be incapacitated for a minimum of 6 weeks.

I think the main issue I had was that we ordered rather early, expecting that our order would be entered and delivered sooner. It appeared that the wait staff or the kitchen, not sure which, held our order until everyone was there. I'd rather have my order fired when I order it instead of waiting, personally. Not sure which mode is easier for the house to accommodate, but just my two cents.

Thank you, Sharon! I hope to see you next week. Gotta check on the babysitter first, of course :)

I wonder if the reason the staff was a bit short at our last meeting might be that, at every previous meeting, they were expecting far more people than actually showed up. Then this time they assigned a more modest number of waiters and presto! that guaranteed that everyone would actually come.

Thank you Sharon, you are so much appreciated; this job is harder than imagined.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
