DFA-Arizona Presents: Speak Out!

"You cannot stand by, you have to stand up, speak up, speak out, and get in the way. Make some noise!” – Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) 08/24/13

Learn the nuts and bolts of public speaking at the Speak Out kick-off meeting on September 28th – how to communicate more effectively and get your message across. Then on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Iguana Mack’s, you'll have the opportunity to practice

• Door Chats: one-minute impromptu chats to use in conversations or canvassing

• Stump Speech/Values Speech/Pivoting: prepared remarks for anywhere

• Issues Speech: prepared speech on a specific issue.

If you don’t now feel confident in your ability to share your progressive values with people, this is your opportunity to learn to communicate in a safe, friendly setting with other Democrats. Learn to stand up, speak up, and SPEAK OUT.

Lunch not provided but available from the Iguana Mack’s menu. This is a collaboration between DFA-Arizona and Arizona List to bring this opportunity to Democrats at no charge. Donations to defray the cost of study materials will be accepted. For more information contact Karyn Lathan at[masked] or [masked]
