If you like music, especially rock, jazz,, blues, this event is for you. First of all, it is a benefit for St. Louis's own well known musician Jimmy Lee Kennett who has stage IV colon cancer. The support he has received from the STL music community and beyond speaks volumes of the love and respect other musicians have for him. The day will be packed with music from many bands that will be performing including Joe Dirt, Jerimiah Johnson, The Brothers (an Allman Brothers tribute band) Soulard Blues Band, Tony Campanella w/ Obeid Kahn, The St. Louis Drive Band plus (hopefully) Jimmy Lee's w/ Michael Thomas & Everett Green. No doubt they will play a few Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute numbers Kennett is known for.
Besides the musicians on stage, there will be others in the crowd. At benefits in the past members of Mama's Pride, Head East and other well known bands have been there plus a host of local talent and celebs.
Tickets are $10.00 and every cent goes to help the cause. I can tell you the place will be packed but it will be worth it. This is a great event!!! I'm not sure yet. but there may be advanced tickets available. I will send an e-mail when I know.
If you plan to go, please rsvp asap and we will attempt to line up some place to meet. We do have some friends on the "inside" that may be able to help.
