Former Liberal Boomer co-organizer, artist in several media, and friend, Janet Riehl, has created over 2000 "doodles" on her smart phone in the last 2 years. Contrary to what I was expecting given the medium, I think many of them are amazing, some Picassoesque, and all very creative. She has selected 30 of them, had them elegantly framed, and is offering them for display and sale as a benefit for the Portfolio Gallery & Education Center.
The PGEC exhibits works by some of the best local, regional and national African American artists and offers school enrichment programs, after school classes, and other programs for children and adults. $50 of the $150 sale price covers materials, and $100 goes straight to the Center.
Let's meet for the opening August 2. Refreshments served. And the Fontbonne Dept. of Fashion Merchandising has organized a fashion show for the evening. The collection is also available for viewing through September 26 by appointment. [masked]).
Here are links to see the works online and a brief description of the collection and Janet's international background.
(Janet will be on Fox TV, channel 2 live on 7/29 sometime between 9 and 10 am.)
