We will be changing things up a bit for this meeting.  Rather than our usual structured discussion, we will be meeting at Panera Bread, to social and have coffee and/or breakfast.

This will be a good opportunity to get to know each other better, in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I look forward to see you!

Also, to help defray the expenses of Meetup, we are asking for a nominal donation of $1.00.

Really enjoyed meeting the group - not all, of course, but that will come in time! Great conversation and looking forward to the next time.

Thank you! I'm adjusting to all the different formats of connecting - I like informal gatherings very much even though they are not always as fulfilling as we'd like, that is, we don't always get the chance to have the conversations we want with the people we want. But again, that all comes in good time. In the meanwhile, it's just nice to get together with nice people.

Although I found the meet-up at Panetta's enjoyable, I missed not having a topic and a discussion group. The acoustics at Panetta's was also really bad. It was hard to hear anyone that wasn't right next to you. It's nice to do something different once in a while, but I hope we keep the old format in place for the majority of our meetups.

It was fun to just chat with people, although I did not have a chance to speak with everyone. But it was nice to meet in this format for a change.

I liked this format, maybe even actually better than the normal one. Less formal. Now if there was just a way to situate myself near the people who are talking about the topics I'm interested in, and where there wasn't so much clatter. Maybe it simply involves ME being more assertive and more patient at the same time. I probably should have stayed longer than I did and sat thru the frustration of not being able to hear every word.

Yes, I have heard that patience is a virtue. We were wondering where you went!

I mentioned that I was going to share a link for this group but can't remember what it was....can anyone help me? And wasn't this something discussed today; how hard it is to remember things? I am guilty!

Susan, I don't remember this.... are you sure it was yesterday with our group?? Lol

I enjoyed the format, it is good for me to work on my weak conversation skills. I tend to range from timid to talking too much about myself(staying in a comfort zone). This group is great for me in many ways.

Couldn't hear. Bad acoustics. Or it could be my hearing, lol. Wanted to talk more about Amendment 66 that went down in flames, higher taxes for education, but I wasn't sitting close enough to the teachers, Susan and Randi, to hear what they were saying. I have a teacher friend in Douglas County and she voted against it which confounds me.

Why wouldn't teachers want more money for education? Do teachers really want to scuttle the public school system and turn it over to vouchers and the conservative plan?

Had a nice chat with Beryl about the Richie Incognito Miami Dolphins bullying and racism case, the Neanderthal condition of some NFL lockerrooms. Extortion too!

Wanted to talk about my disappointment with Obama and his stance on the XL Pipeline, drones, NSA spying, Healthcare, global climate change and that huge typhoon in the Philippines, the TPP (another bad trade agreement). Obama is no progressive. Disappointing.

I know.... there's always so much to talk about!

Education is a funny business to say the least. Most of my teacher type friends did vote for Amendment 66, although I do know some who didn't. Perhaps this could be a topic of discussion for a future gathering?
