Thanks for a good evening, everyone. Sean's enthusiasm for a more Libertarian party was obvious. I still have reservations

    a) about how easily Libertarianism sits with the party's old guard, y'know, the Daily Mail-reading, 'foreign muck is responsible for the ruin of our nation' types and
    b) like Nico mentioned, I also worry about the watering down of what makes Libertarianism a coherent set of beliefs pertaining to government. At what point does compromise to please the electorate become a betrayal of original priciples? In my mind, any compromise is a step too far, but I appreciate that this consigns Libertarianism to the fringes of politics and that I sound like a fanatic...too much Ayn Rand I fear :-/

I remain to be convinced about UKIP, but Sean certainly started a good debate. Will anyone be at the Rose and Crown next week? Sorry I didn't get time to chat....
