The management of the economy

Usual monthly meet-up in the Rose and Crown, get the right one there are two in Southwark!

This is an informal drinks event to discuss Libertarian theories, recent news and events in general, the state of libertarianism in the various parties and in the culture.

To get us started Bob Layson, who will also simultaneously host the event, will be speaking on the ruin wrought by state fiat currencies and by the concept of national economies as real things requiring political management. Please be kind to Bob, as he will be busy on his own and will need to attend to placing of chairs, filming and dealing with sources of noise.

We will be upstairs in the function room, accessed via stairs behind the bar to the right. Ask the landlady where we are if you can't find us.

Lest my title seem too sleep inducing I shall here give my verdict first and my evidence later: the pure market process consists of a network of self-managing agents, and associations of agents, the various plans of which co-ordinate without being, or needing to be, part of some overall central plan politically arrived at. Political interventions and artificial institutions can be said, with a straight face, to be helping to 'manage the economy' but...(more on the night).
