SA Toll Party Alert
STOP DOUBLE TAX TOLLS
Loop 1604 to become
foreign-owned toll road?
>> Bill to hand 20 TX
FINAL vote Tuesday!
>> Another rushed
gavel, no chance to vote. One House member said, "They
wouldn't let us vote on it!"
>> PPPs/CDAs mean CRONY CAPITALISM
& sweetheart deals that guarantee profits, limit expansion of free routes, and can charge 75 cents a mile or MORE to use our public
Focus on contacting these
Tell them to
Loop 1604 OUT of the bill and to vote 'NO' on SB 1730. We do NOT want
handed to private corporations that can charge Texans exorbitant toll
rates! We're not falling for the 'tolling is not a guarantee, it's
just an option' routine - we don't want that 'option' on the table
A 'yes' vote is the same
thing as voting for TOLL TAXES in the hands of a private, foreign
corporation since it gives TxDOT and the RMA a blank check!
The House convenes to start
considering bills at 10 AM Tuesday.
See why PPPs/CDAs are anti-freedom & anti-taxpayer here.

>> House votes to include Loop
1604 in SB 1730 bill to privatize & toll our PUBLIC roads
Important dates: 281 Public Hearing, June 20!
Postcards from the lege...
HB 3391 switched to SB 1730:
Rep. Ruth McClendon switched from helping us
keep 1604 OUT of the bill to putting it back in. She offered an
amendment and Rep. Lyle Larson and Rep. Jose Menendez openly supported it. When
asked why, Larson's office still maintains he doesn't want it done as
a toll road. Menendez' office gave no answer.
the bill doesn't differentiate between the CDA being tolled or
non-toll. So while it's clever to say the toll element is 'optional'
and whether or not Loop 1604 is handed to a private toll operator who
extracts exorbitant toll rates up to 75 cents a mile will be decided later by
un-elected boards & TxDOT, not the PEOPLE, bottom line is TxDOT
would NOT be able to hand
this road to Cintra or other private entity unless this bill passes.
We KILL the bill, we
kill the privatization of our PUBLIC roads!
our good bills have either been gutted, watered down, or held up in
Committee, our attention is being turned to KILLING the bad bills, and
trying to get our good bills OUT OF COMMITTEE
by the deadline, May 6!
