John Carmack is the founder and Technical Director of Id Software and Armadillo Aerospace:

My personal ideals have always been aligned with those of the Libertarian Party, but like many people, I mostly ignored politics for a long time.  My game Doom was often used as a prop in congressional theatre over violent video games, but it is easy (beneficial, even!) for a software developer to keep their head stuck in the sand and ignore the world around them.

When I started Armadillo Aerospace, the required interactions with the government for flying rocket ships forced me to take a much more clear headed view of the state, and I began to recognize my responsibility to have some interaction with the political process.

I'm an optimist - there are opportunities for positive change everywhere, and I believe the Libertarian Party message of limited government and personal liberty can appeal to the broader population.

Texas is a dynamic state with a strong culture of personal independence and responsibility.  If things are going to change, it's a good place to start.

I am a Platinum Member, and I encourage you to join me in supporting the Libertarian Party of Texas.

John Carmack
