Firstly, I wanted to say hi to everyone, particularly those that have joined somewhat recently. I am really glad people are finding this little idea of a tennis club/group to be a good idea!! I started this because I found it very hard to find anyone who knows how to play tennis! But, anyway, I really am glad people are liking it and I hope you all continue to enjoy and use the club.
Also though, I have to say, obviously I have been extremely delinquent. Thanks very much to Helen and a few others that have stepped in and helped lead this group. With a challenging job and 2 young kids I have found all of a sudden I don't have much time. Hopefully next summer I can get out a bit now that our youngest is 2 yrs old!
On the admin side - I have currently been paying the $19/mth meetup fee myself for the last couple of years. For 2010, Helen collected some $$ thanks and I have that now. For 2011 and 2012/beyond, I'd like to arrange something that is easy for all of us but doesn't have me paying the total fee. I am open to ideas. But again, it's not a lot of money so I am not looking to profit or anything like that - just cover costs. I know some clubs have done something where membership is $2 to $10 per yr depending on the number of active members. I see we have near 100 members but am thinking it's likely 20 to 50ish active to semi-active players. I am open to ideas and again, want to make it simple. If we want to do paypal; i can do that although realize not everyone may have/use paypal.
Let me know if any good suggestions on how to handle the $$.
