Speed Networking EVOLVED!

2014 - The Year of Meeting Awesome People!!

Speed Networking EVOLVED

Please note: This is NOT a SPEED DATING event.  You will be talking to people of both genders to foster friendships.

Let’s face it, networking events these days are pretty much all the same; idle chit-chat about what you do, where you work, the weather, the economy and other mundane topics ... all the while never really getting to know the interesting and unique side of the person sitting right in front of you.

The best way to build solid, long-lasting friendships is to really get to know someone on a deeper, less superficial level to see if you like them as a person.  But where does one find such an amazing environment?

We decided to break the mold and create something a little different!!

Experience meeting new people as you never imagined possible. Connect with fellow group members on a more authentic level in a fun and fast-paced environment.

How does this all work you ask?

Everyone will be seated in pairs of 2 … at the conclusion of 5 minutes one person will get up and move to the next table … and it will all begin again for a new round!

So what makes this so unique?

At the beginning of each round you will be given a fun and thought-provoking question to ask the person sitting in front of you to help break the ice and make the conversation easier and more playful. It’s up to you if you want to use the question or you can just jump right into your own conversation.

A few sample questions you might be asking and answering are:

- Complete this sentence: I am the most ___________ person you have ever met.
- If you could be anyone for a day (living or deceased), who would you be and why?
- If you had to explain the birds and the bees to a five year old child, what would you say?
- What’s one thing that never fails to make you smile?

At the end of the afternoon you will have met and built real rapport with close to half of the people at the event … try doing that a regular networking event!!

This unique workshop is facilitated by two trained professional life coaches.

Our facilitator’s for the event will be:

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Speed Networking. What great conversations!

When you come to LeeAnn's events now I'm sure you will see a lot more familiar faces. :)

well attended, particularly by men who often seem to be in short supply:) kim, perhaps you left before the event started?? actually it was well organized and the suggested questions were well thought out ice-breakers.....
i would suggest in the future having one sex stationary and the other sex moving so that we have an opportunity to meet as many of the opposite sex as possible

Thoroughly enjoyed the session. Met wonderful people. The session was very well organized and I was amazed at how quick the people were to stop talking after the 4 minutes, and move to the next person. I got to know people at a deeper level as a result of the seminar and the questions that were presented. Well done Barb and Frank!

It was a good session. I think more was accomplished than anyone could possibly via texting. Sometimes face to face is better than using technology :) Cheers!

Wd have been nice to have met more than two men as there were so many there, had a feeling we'd have been given phone numbers ir a way to connect afterward and it was REALLY loud. But all and all quite an experience and was fun time.

This was a speed networking event. And NOT a speed dating event ( we will do those in the future)
We had to keep juggling latecomers arriving. For a first time we ran this event on a snowy day most people made great connections.

The night was fantastic! The loudness of the conversations just proved how well it was received. Thank you for the questions Frank and Barb! As always - Chalkers is a great place! I do wish I could have talked to everyone! Thank you!

Really enjoyed this concept. Time allotted per round was good. Questions really helped at least get the conversation going, then we moved on to other convo as time permitted, so I liked that. Two things to change if possible. More space to spread out (use upper section too?) to reduce noise level at individual tables. Some kind of incentive to move when it's time, or maybe a disincentive to not move. Person a couple in front of me always was late to move which had the person trying to get my chair giving me the evil eye to move on. Good job Barb and Frank. I would attend again.
