Would you like to try out new restaurants, other eating establishments and/or go to events with people of a similar age but these days can never seem to find anyone prepared to commit to go and share the experience with you but you just don't want to go alone so often miss out?

Do you want to see concerts, theatre shows, taking full advantage of any 2 for 1 and half-price ticket offers but rarely or never have a ready and willing companion able to be your "plus 1" for the event so that you can then both take advantage of those special offers?

If any of the above circumstances applies then this could possibly  be THE Meet UP Group for you!

We are an extremely friendly group of ladies age+ (or thereabouts) and full membership is open to females of all nationalities, professional backgrounds etc. (whether single or coupled up, straight, gay etc. - but please note that it is not intended that the group will be run as a "singles" dating or matchmaking agency for those seeking that sort of relationship). What's on offer to you initially will be companionship and hopefully some stimulating conversation with other like-minded females, from which a few genuine and long-lasting friendships may, one hopes, develop naturally once the group is more established.

The target age range is 40 - 55 ish but, don't worry if you fall a few years outside of either end of this age range - you will still be made very welcome should you express an interest to participate

MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR THIS GROUP ARE DUE ANNUALLY (on 1st October) AND ARE SET AT £5/£6 FOR THE YEAR.

You can pay these fees in one of 3 ways:-

(a) Pay £5 in cash up front at your first meetup (I will also accept donations of at least £1 per meetup, in cash, from those members who would prefer to PAYG for whatever reason).

(b) send me a private message requesting either bank account details for the group (to pay teh £5 subs. via online banking) or, alternatively, my home address (to send a cheque for that amount by post)

(c) Pay £6 via Paypal - the paypal fees are built into the £6 membership charge which is why it's slightly higher.

PRE-BOOKED TICKETS, MEALS ETC. will be paid for separately at cost as and when required (details will appear on the relevant meetup page nearer the time).  Refunds in respect of pre-paid ticket events which are usually non-refundable and cannot be easily transferred to another Member/friend of a Member cannot, unfortunately, be considered (so please ensure your availability to attend before sending a "Yes" RSVP for the event or be sure to let the organiser know straight away if your RSVP is a tentative "Yes" only to give an idea of interest in the event.

CANCELLATIONS/ NO SHOW POLICY : If you persistently cancel events you have RSVP'd "yes" for or just simply do not turn up mnore than a couple of times you can expect to be removed from the group forthwith as the rest of us would much rather meet up with committed individuals like ourselves where possible please. As Organiser I do make my contact number and e-mail address freely available to members to be used whenever the need arise.  Probably best if, on the day cancellations due to illness/family issues are sent by phone/voicemail/text to my mobile rather than by e-mail or via this site  (my mobile number is 07963 610215) to ensure safe and timely receipt or a prompt response is given where required.

INACTIVE MEMBERS will, unfortunately, have to be removed from the group after a period of 3-4 months from your last visit tot he site (so be sure to visit the site and RSVP regularly for any events - either "Yes" or "No" regularly and/or keep in touch with the organiser by other means to confirm your ongoing interest in the group so that you are not removed prematurely or needlessly).
