Charlie Chaplin in The Circus 1928 Silent plus a 111 year old treat $3.00

The Circus - 1928

Charlie's Tramp character finds himself at a circus where he promptly gets chased around by the police who think he is a pickpocket. Running into the bigtop, he is an accidental sensation with his hilarious efforts to elude the police. The ringmaster/owner immediately hires him, but discovers the Tramp cannot be funny on purpose, so he takes advantage of the situation by making the Tramp a janitor who just happens to always be in the Bigtop at showtime. Unaware of this exploitation, the Tramp falls for the owner's lovely acrobatic daughter, who is abused by her father. His chances seem good until a dashing rival comes in and Charlie feels he has to compete with him.

Special treat, we're going to show one of the 1st movies ever seen by the public from 111 years ago.

We've got the 2nd floor room booked beginning at 6:00 PM so you could get settled in early and have a drink and a bite to eat if you wish. The film will begin at 7:30 sharp.

There is a $3.00 meetup cost for this event and a one drink (soft drink, wine or beer) minimum to support The Central as they're giving us this space for three hours. So please, let's do our best to support them.

After the film, let's hang around and discuss the film right at The Central. :)

Directions - Located one block west of Bathurst and Bloor. From your location go to and click "Get Directions." The destination address is 603 Markham Street.

Transit - Take the Bloor/Danforth Subway Line to Bathurst Station. Walk one block west along Bloor to Markham St. and you're there. For further TTC info call[masked]-INFO (4636) and dial O to speak with a live person.

Parking - There's a parking lot on Markham Street, just north of Bloor. I believe it's a flat rate of only $4 after 6PM. There's street (meter) parking on Bloor St., and if you're lucky you'll get a spot right in Mirvish Village. If you're parking on the street be sure to read the signs carefully to avoid a fine.

We look forward to seeing you!!

I am really struggling with some kind of cold. I may be a last minute scratch. You don't want me coughing all over you tonight. If so I hope you do more Chaplin movies.

Hi Alex, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it tonight. I'm on waiting list for the brunch this weekend and maybe will join up with everyone there if there's an opening.

Might not be able to get there by 6pm. Always a bit of a fight against rush hour traffic and possibly weather, coming from Brampton. But I should be able to be there before movie starts, at 7:30. Looking forward to it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
