  • This location is shown only to members

WE WILL BE MEETING AT TED ROGERS STATUE WHICH IS IN BETWEEN THE AQUARIUM AND ROGERS CENTRE. THE CLOSEST STREET IS BREMNER BLVD. PLEASE BE THERE BETWEEN 11:30-11:45 AM. WE WILL ENTER THE AQUARIUM AS A GROUP AT 12 NOON. CALL ME AT[masked] IF YOU NEED HELP.

Hi Everyone, I've been following the progress of the Ripley's Aquarium for a while now. They were actually supposed open in June and I've been wanting to organize this event for a long time. Well, on Saturday, November 23rd at 12:00 noon let's finally go to the newly opened Ripley's Aquarium of Canada. It's right downtown beside the CN Tower and The Rogers Centre. I was able to get a reduced group rate for 15-74 people. For adults up to age 64 it will be $30.50 including taxes. For those that are 65 and up it will be $20.30, which also includes taxes. They also have discounted tickets for kids if you'd be interested in coming with young children. There will now be NO MEETUP FEE for this event!!

**IMPORTANT*** THIS IS A PREPAY EVENT***

$30.50 for adults - $20.30 for seniors over 65 (includes all taxes)

**SCROLL DOWN TO LEARN HOW TO PAY FOR THIS EVENT**

The Aquarium is a 12,500 square-metre (135,000 square-foot) awe-inspiring attraction with more than 5.7 million litres (1.5 million gallons) of water depicting marine and freshwater habitats from around the world. We will get to view over 15,000 animals, including fan favourites such as sharks, jellies, rays, and green sea turtles.

We will need a minimum of 15 people to make this discounted rate happen. I know that we can do that!! I'm sure that this will be a really fun, interesting and educational event for our members!! If we cannot get a minimum of 15 people then we will have to pay the normal rate of $29.98 + HST and $19.98 + HST for seniors.

There are three ways to prepay for this event:

1 - Pay me (Alex) at one of our events.

2 - Pay through Interac email transfer - [masked] - (email me first for the question and answer needed)

3 - Pay through Paypal - [masked] (Add $1 extra for service fee)

Once I receive your payment you will be officially added to the RSVP list.

*****We must have all payments no later than November 14th in order to let the aquarium know how many people to expect. I will be going to the aquarium to pay for us all on November 15th*****

There will be no refunds for cancellations. Refunds will occur only if the organizer (me) has to cancel this event and I certainly don't want to do that!!

We look forward to seeing you at Ripley's Aquarium!!

(Thanks go out to Heather Chernofsky for the additional photos)

Sorry that we lost you, Dave. With the crowd we all got separated. A few of us waited for awhile at the exit but not too many showed up. It's pretty tough to organize events where there are crowds. I'm glad that you were there!!

It was quite interesting to see all of the sea creatures. I suspect this would make a great weekday evening Meetup as well.

It's really tough to keep a group together in a crowd like that. It was really something to see all the sea creatures though. I hope that you post some of those shots, Penny. It was a pleasure to meet you!!

Are we getting our selves there? Do you know if parking has a fee there if they have a parking lot for their facility?

    1 · October 25, 2013

    • Alex S.

Yes, we're getting there ourselves. I'll have to look into parking. I didn't see a parking facility for them while I was there yesterday. I'm sure though that the least expensive and probably the easiest way to get there is by TTC or GO Transit, depending on where you're coming from. Once you get to Union Station, just take the Skywalk as if you're going to Rogers

      October 25, 2013

    • Alex S.

oops. Rogers Centre or the CN Tower. Take the escalator down through the Convention Centre and you're there!! I will look into the parking situation early next week though.
