Walk in The Park - High Park Extended Walk (Free Event)

A WALK IN BEAUTIFUL HIGH PARK

***PLEASE NOTE*** There will be no subway service between Eglinton and Bloor along the Yonge Subway Line. There will be shuttle buses though.

High Park is one of Toronto's most beautiful parks. It's time for a little more sunshine, fresh air, exercise and great company!! The best things in life are free and so are our walks. We will take an extended walk here this time around. The walk itself is close to four miles in length and has some medium to steep hills in spots. So this one could be a bit more challenging for some. I would say that it's best to be at least an intermediate walking level for this one. We will start with a fairly wooded area that follows a small brook. We will continue on through the High Park Zoo, then to one Spectacular View of Grenadier Pond and then we'll continue south to the end of the park. The final stop for the group will be the Grenadier Cafe where we can relax, get some refreshments and continue to socialize for a while. Whenever we're through it's just a short walk north along Colborne Lodge Drive to get back to where we entered at Bloor Street. I'll be glad to point out the way.

We will begin to meet at the park entrance at High Park Ave. & Bloor St. at 11:30 A.M. and will begin our walk at 12:00 P.M. Please try to be on time!!

If you're driving, enter the park at the north entrance at Bloor St. and Colborne Lodge Drive. There's Free Parking along Colborne Lodge Drive in the park. Try to get there a little earlier to make sure you secure your parking spot because the park could get busy fast!!

If you're taking the TTC, take the Bloor-Danforth Subway to High Park Station. When you get off the "up" escalator look for the High Park Ave. Exit. Walk past all the the bus stops and when you reach High Park Ave. Turn right @ High Park Ave. and walk a bit and we will be waiting for you across the street at Bloor St. and High Park Ave.

Make sure that you're wearing sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself. Also make sure that you're wearing comfortable footwear. It wouldn't be a bad idea to take a little bottled water either. Also remember that we're here for a good time, so be sure to bring you positive attitude and wear a big smile.

Here's a link to the Grenadier Cafe website. In it you'll find a map of High Park if you would like to print it out. http://www.grenadiercafe.com

We look forward to seeing you there!!

P.S. If the walk is a little too advanced for you and you would still like to meet and socialize, No Problem. Come join us at the Grenadier Cafe at around 1:30-2:00 PM.

We'd love to see you there!!

This was a great day for outdoor activities! I had a bike ride this morning so I couldn't make if for the hike, but I still had fun talking to people at the restaurant.

Beautiful sunshine, beautiful park, beautiful people, what a perfect day! LOL

Hi Alex I am running late as well. I'll try my best to catch up with you and the group if not on the hike then at Grenadier Cafe.

Sorry, I want to go but it's been a rough week and it might be too much for my knees. Didn't read the part about it being 4 miles until just now.

Perhaps you could join us afterwards at the Grenadier Café, Brenda.

Thanks for the suggestion but for me, the whole reason for going was the walk. Eating out without the exercise first, not so much. :)

Sorry I missed this one, my timing and the Toronto traffic getting the better of me :(
