Subject: [Light-Study] Meetup details changed: Elements of Light

Hello All,

I have just gotten back from DC doing the Black Doll Affair Kickoff. You can check out the pictures here Well the last meetup went very well and there were several suggestions that I will be implementing for this meetup. First we voted on moving the time to 6pm so people coming out of work could be on time., but if you come early that is fine, and the group proposed that $20 was a better price for the value of these sessions/ meetups and to give us the ability to buy more and better supplies and refreshments. It is an intensive workgroup and if you know anything about photography you will know that most things are considerably more than $20 for any serious in-depth learning. Light Study is an intense, focused session of learning that has a lot of information at a pace that will allow the information you get to sink in. This will bring you to the next level as a professional.

What to expect for this meetup? First we will do a short recap of the Key Issues to Remember from last meeting for the benefit of those who missed it. Those who made it should know the answers to the key issues that were drilled home in the last meeting. We will get a brief history and the importance of Portrait Photography. You will learn what Markets for Portraiture are available to make money in and help in finding the guides to the right Pricing. Then you will be involved in an extensive study of light that will build upon our last session. We will go over The Nature and Physics of Light. Then we will begin in gathering the foundation tools to build on and help us to become better photographers. We will get instruction on formulating posing guides , resources books and pricing binders and test books to read, it will be a part of the homework.

Don't forget to bring note taking materials HINT, HINT this is a lot of information and you do not want to miss anything. I look forward to seeing most of you there. Remember space is limited so RSVP early so that we can accommodate everyone. Refreshments will be served at the break. Pizza was decided, but if you have RSVP'd now would be the time to put in your vote.
