ArtWalk Night Downtown!

It's ArtWalk night downtown! Lots of art studios and galleries are open to the public free of charge. Also a great opportunity to shoot a little neon on this night. Several of the hotels only turn on their neon on for ArtWalk night.

*This will be a no host event. People can meetup at the parking lot if you want.

+ Loud music
+ A large, eclectic collection of personal studios specializing in all sorts of different mediums: oils, charcoal, sculpture, wires, you NAME it!
+ Bars are sprinkled here and there between each studio, and they're always pretty full
+ Free cheese and wine at some studios
+ Meet a lot of cool cats, it gets pretty crowded!
+ Free! (besides parking and food at the food trucks of course)

There is a parking lot (Actually 2) at the corner of 3rd and Hill street. If that lot is full you can also park further down on spring street or at our regular lot on 3rd and hill and walk over.

It will be very crowded with lots of people all over the place.

We will be both photographing and touring the many galleries. There will be plenty of things and people to photograph.

Bring your creativity and bring extra batteries and a tripod. You can go without a tripod but be prepared to shoot at a high ISO using a fast lens.

Parking will be $8. Get there early if you can as parking can take a while since ArtWalk is quite busy in the summer. There was a very large crowd there last time, so be prepared to rub elbows with humanity. If you can find a parking meter after 6 pm, you can park for free.

If you are on the Waiting List, please know that your RSVP might be changed to YES in the event that someone drops out. This might happen last minute, so keep an eye on the list. If you cannot attend, please change your RSVP to No.

*Please be advised, that due to the large crowds it is extremely difficult (impossible) to stay in 1 group. We almost always get split up. It's a good idea to partner up with another photog and we will likely split up into several smaller groups.

Explore a bit further south than usual to check out the exhibit at Hatakeyama Gallery (SW corner of 9th & Hill). I'm one of the photographers featured at the show :)

A great chance to enjoy a beverage and meet a bunch of street photographers who have made this gallery their home when they come to DTLA to shoot. Hope to see you there!
