You have been hired to create an image for an important client!

Hi everyone, our next meetup is now scheduled!!

Jonathan and I would like to invite you to join us to participate in a photo shoot staged and conducted much like a regular client session would be. The basics, in a nutshell, is that you must create and execute (from available parts) a viable visual concept that sells a product in an heroic presentation. Two teams will be selected to do the work (depending on the number of people, each team will be roughly half those in attendance). All the necessary ingredients to render your creative concept will be available to each team. What each team does is up to it.

The basic ingredients are a product with a model. You will learn what the product is when you arrive, but the model is the lovely and talented Heather Elaine.

As the client/ArtDirectors/producers, Jonathan and I will be the team that you need to please - we have oversight - much like the way the Apprentice TV show presented and evaluated the marketing team concepts for charity to the sponsors involved.

This will be an opportunity for you to work with the lighting, a set, props, product and Heather Elaine, who will help you to elevate the product and concept to heroic standards. We want your best ideas to flow and you may do anything (within reason) to launch your image into the stratosphere - but remember, the lighting is the key and how it works to draw and elevate the composition to the next level.

Time permitting, we will discuss and demonstrate suggested post production improvements/revisions that will polish the final image into the final print ad.

One more thing, please arrive on time as we must divide into two teams and review the product, set and props that will become the shot. This often entails a fair bit of thought and conversation. The doors will be open at 1:45PM to learn of and inspect the task at hand - I hope that you will accept the challenge to experience your first professional photo shoot! Happy creating and shooting....

I really enjoyed the meeting, it's great to find other photographers who are willing to share their ideas. The project we worked on was a great idea as it provided a context for a collaborative effort.

Great Meet-up! Was challenging. As always, I come away from each Meet-up much more knowledgeable. Great concept for sharing your professional photographic experience.

Hi everyone, I want to thank all of you for the great energy and contributions yesterday, and a special thanks goes to our terrific model, Heather Elaine. I selected two images, did a bit of post and have uploaded the two concepts in finished form to give everyone a chance to see what the final ad may have looked like. I am quite pleased at how well you all took to a difficult assignment and think the results are quite solid..., good work!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
