I'm the Duke: Session 3!

(Reference to Duke from new game called "Coup", which is the second in a series of Resistance games... although it is not an expansion, and is rather the first re-publication of a slightly older game with a medeival Italian theme... which in turn is not the same Coup that you might remember from the early 70s... but is the same as the new Coup on BGG with the different cover... which is not the one on kickstarter.... which in turn is basically the same game as the new Coup with the different cover (not from the 70s), even though that particular version had nothing to do with Resistance... is at any rate the exact same game... except they changed the Ambassador... And... But... Just forget it. It's too confusing, but is an excellent game... errr... am referring to the one online.. not the kickstarter... sigh).

Looking forward to Session 3!

(NOTE: if wecan squeeze something in sooner, and we get more interested folks, We can try for something in mid to late July!)

I think we'll have both versions of Glory to Rome available tomorrow. Jason owns a copy too. Mine is the colorful one. Maybe Jason's is black box.

...just make sure it's the new Glory to Rome print (joking jest at Kathleen :) ) https://s3.amazonaws.com/ksr/projects/44003/posts/104179/image-55850-full.jpg?1312381746

I'll bring Stone Age, Glory to Rome, and some of my favorites. I'm thinking of Lords of Vegas, Homesteaders, and several of the Stefan Feld games.

    August 2, 2013

  • white p.

Would love to try stone age, by the way.

Also would play "before the wind" (one of mine).

Any other preferences we should consider?

We can get started at 1130, and I am thinking we are good to game until approx 7pm.

    Let me know.

Also, based on timing, let me know if anyone has thoughts on grub...

Was thinking we could grab a late breakfast at the mill, and then maybe barbeque in the evening.

    August 1, 2013

  • white p.

    Great... lets aim for 1130am.

We'll do the rest of the logistics tomorrow...

... the government issued a major solicitation last night, and I am slammed!!!

    August 1, 2013

  • white p.

Bummer.. you'll be missed. We'll schedule another soon.

Perhaps you can pick the date... Must play some cadets, among other things.

    Jason,

    Can you make it earlier?

Would do noon if we could.

Tim... whats the plan at the moment?

If anyone else is jumping in for the day, let me know!

    Looking forward to playing!

I can't make it. I could have only made this past weekend (as posted below), not this coming one. :( Have a fun time gang. I'll try to get to the next one.

Oh, I just looked at your collection Jason. You HAVE Glory to Rome. You don't need me to bring my copy, huh?

You and I surely have very different types of games on our shelves, don't we?

I'll try very hard to remember to bring Glory to Rome on Aug. 3. I have the good version - the colorful one.

I hope you don't mind going to my BoardGameGeek profile to look over my collection. My screen name is EllenCaroline. I'll bring whatever games from that list that anyone requests. And I'll also bring a few that I myself would like to play.

Kathleen: Definitely not wishy washy! Would never suggest such a thing!

You DID clearly express your preferences!

You just did not reach consensus!

Like watching Netanyahu negotiate with Mahmoud Abbas over a meeting schedule in Washington...

Sure, they talk and express positions... but...

    ... no decision

... and in the end there are meeple at stake. :-)

Anyhoo, it all worked out in the end.

Looking forward to checking out your collection. Bring you top favs on the 3rd. Always love trying new stuff...

I still need to get my own list posted.

And furthermore, White Pawn, I did express an opinion and did vote for one weekend over the other. And Tim did too. We weren't all wishy-washy.

I don't do conspiracies very well. It takes me a while to figure out what's going on.
All I know is that anyone is invited to my house this weekend anytime Friday through Sunday (and Thursday evening too). Mr. and Mrs. White Pawn, Tim, and whomever else has time.
If you need directions, please let me know.

    July 22, 2013

If anyone has any complaints I recommend that you take it out on me next session. I respond well to in-game agression. :-)

    Not guilty!

I am merely as the reed that blows in the wind. I bend to the whims of my betters.

My fate is entirely at the discretion of others.

My own preferences are as naught.

I am without force of will or exertion.

My influence on the world is infinitesimal and immeasurably small.

(I do, however, presently find myself liking tautologies very much.)

... and therefore, insofar as y'all can't seem to reach a collective agreement, I am making an executive decision (in accordance with the evident and expressed will of the masses) to stick to the original plan.

(Remind me not to have you guys negotiate any peace treaties together... might not be terribly effective.)

So we will keep the August date.

(Actually, I am doing this based on the understanding that certain off-line arrangements have been made that will satisfy everyone's best interests... thanks Kathleen. I am also doing this to accomodate and welcome our newest member).

Kathleen, White Pawn only goes by his alias. He stays off the grid due to his belief that The Syndicate is hunting him, hence the name, "White Pawn", a non threatening piece that could have great power or influence, when used appropriately for the coming war. :)

Any decision yet on this coming Sat or August? Just trying to plan accordingly... Thx

    1. It would be nice to know your name, Mr. White Pawn.
    2. Have you settled on July or August yet? My vote is for August.

Google maps says I'm 31.4 miles and 45 minutes from the Peppermill Restaurant. Just sayin' . . .

Just found out due to things at my end, that I can only due the July date (27th) from early afternoon onwards. So, I hope that's what we can collectively pick. Hope to see the gang then.

My vote would be for August. I have a friend coming to my house to play games the previous week. If the Limerick group meets in August, I'll be able to have two weekends of games in a row - two is better than one.

Morning-afternoon would be fine with me. The more hours of gaming available, the more worthwhile my drive will be.

My wife has blessed the concept of moving the session to July 27.

This means we can either keep the current date in August, or change the date to July 27.

Either way is fine -- if anyone is itching to play sooner.

Also curious if we might POSSIBLY consider a morning game, running into the early afternoon, instead of an evening/night gathering.

(Mornings are great, and everyone is more awake)

    All recommendations welcome.

If there isn't a general consensus, we will stick with the next session in August as planned.

The july session may yet happen. Our previous plans (wife and I) are probably going to change.
