As of 2015, I'm doing short-term contract gigs for multiple companies. I'm willing to travel, but prefer to work near the Lincoln/Omaha or Denver areas.
I've used pretty much every technique over the years, including formal "waterfall" specs for government contracts, shops that "just wing it" informally, and modern Agile techniques.
I've used agile practices informally over the years, and recently did a six-month contract with a shop that strongly emphasized agile techniques under the guidance of certified Scrum masters.
I'm particularly interested in testing life-critical systems. One of my jobs was to write an automated testing system to help structural engineers check their calculations. A software bug could result in a collapsed building, so we took the job very seriously. My career goal is to help develop better techniques for testing life-critical computer systems.
