We used whatever technique that seemed appropriate for a given situation, including agile techniques.
I've been programming since the mid-seventies, and have used agile principles now and then, as well as "waterfall" methods back when they were popular. The places I've worked didn't mandate shop-wide adoption of any named technique such as scrumm, but individual groups within the company were free to use whatever technique they felt was appropriate for their assignment.
I'm particularly interested in design-for-testability, test-first methodologies, and cross-platform development.
