Editing with vi: Fundamentals
Most people use about 10% of vi's capabilities and the presentation provides the opportunity to learn more and increase your speed and enjoyment in text editing.
This tutorial covers the history, background and design principles of vi; many vi movement commands; some text alteration commands; and the vi command language syntax.
Attendees should bring a laptop with a "vi" editor for the in-class exercises. No prior experience is required but 20 year veterans of vi have come out raving how much they've learned.
