Currently, the internet does not have a protocol for identification. Without such an identification protocol, we are unable to share provable personal information over the internet, limiting the trust we can build.
Digital Identity is a concept that allows us to identify ourselves online, solving most of the trust problems. This is further expanded with the idea of Self Sovereign Identity, where the control over our personal data returns to ourselves.

At this meetup, you will be briefly introduced to the concept.

The Rabobank will show their work on Self Sovereign Identity for people and their Universal Ledger Agent (ULA).

The IOTA Foundation will present its case for a Unified Identity. Explaining why not only people would benefit from a Self Sovereign Identity, but also machines and how this might enable the "Smart" world we have been dreaming about.
