Introduction
Hi, My name is Jolene and I live in Newtown. I was interested in joining this group because I need the idea of making friendships appeals to me. I've had two good friends move away (due to the economy for jobs) and I'm ready to join and have fun.
What is your real name and where do you call home? Are you new to the area? Do you plan on relocating? Are you willing/able to travel to the group's base & surrounding areas?
My name is Jolene Isdale. Home is Newtown, Connecticut. I've lived here for 25 years. I have no plans to relocate. Yes, I can travel to the group base which I think is Shelton. Also, if there are events or outings in that area, I don't mind making that trip.
What are your expectations for this group? What do you hope to gain and/or learn? What can you contribute?
From the writeup, I formed the impression that it will appeal to women who are open to making new friendships, perhaps going on a hike, having coffee together, group discussions, maybe planning a group trip to the city, taking in a movie or a play, or discussing a book. My expectations are only to have fun and to make some new friends. I have to admit that it is getting harder to make friends as I get older, so it would be fun to be in a social setting without any pressures meeting other women with common interests. I would contribute myself, I'm a good listener, I have a lot of empathy for people, give kindness and support, and hopefully have fun with like-minded women.
What qualities do you look for in a friend? What are your best qualities? Weakness(es)?
A sense of humor, honesty, and a good listener are good qualities for friends, someone who not pretentious. My best qualities are that I'm a caring person, I genuinely care if someone is in need of any help, my weaknesses would be that I'm a foodie, but I'm trying to get that under control !!
What types of activities do you enjoy? What new things interest you? Are you a follower or leader? Do you have a knack for organizing? Are you interested in taking an active roll in running this group?
I love parties and get togethers, I like to go on hikes, I love movies. I could organize a get together occasionally, but I don't know that I would want to be organizing one each month, but I would definitely like to do that on a rotating basis.
What is your availability? How often do you expect to be able to participate?
My availability is weekly. Because I would commit to participating, I could participate weekly or every other week.
