The Art Institute's Art and Appetite: American Painting, Culture and Cuisine is a curated collection of paintings, sculptures and memorabilia from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries that interprets America's historical relationship with food and dining. The exhibit began November 12th and runs through January 27th, 2014.
The Institute has also made available contemporary recipe contributions from top culinary talent in Chicago. Their recipes and bios make for interesting reading and certainly, tasty meals. I'd recommend checking out their site http://www.artic.edu/exhibitions/art-and-appetite-american-painting-culture-and-cuisine
Every Thursday in December the Art Institute will offer a 12 crs amuse-bouche serving in addition to the exhibit. The servings start at 5 and cost $66 for couples and $38 for individuals.
Provided there is interest, we could plan a Meetup to view the exhibit and go have dinner, should we not want to participate in the amuse-bouche serving.
