Come and enjoy a group discussion on a great book!  Share your take away from the selected book. Refreshments will be served! FREE ACTIVITY!

Little Black Village Community Book Club was created to encourage our members to read more and share what they read, either in a physical community setting or via online blog or Facebook Community Book Club page.  We will choose one book per month to read and have a discussion about the book the following month.  We will focus on books that can influence both our youth and adults in our community.  Feel free to join our book club, just RSVP for our next Community Club Meetup.   Thank you!

Join us on our Facebook Community Book Club Page as well at

Since our first Meetup is only two weeks away we thought a quick read would be best to start off with.  If you plan to attend our first meetup please be sure to read The Richest Man in Babylon: This book dispenses financial advice through a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon. Through their experiences in business and managing household finance, the characters in the parables learn simple lessons in financial wisdom. Originally, a series of separate informational pamphlets distributed by banks and insurance companies, the pamphlets were bound together and published in book form in 1926. Click to read more...

Please come ready to talk about the book and what you took away from it.  This is a family friendly book club so children are welcome as long as they have read the book as well.  Also please come with suggestion on our next book so that we can vote on which book we should read next!

All members are welcome! Refreshments will be served!  Also as an added feature 30 minutes will be set aside for anyone who would like to take part of spoken words after our book discussion.

Come and join us!  Pick up this month selection and read it.  If you cannot join us physically to talk about the book then just leave a comment about the book here, on FB or on the Little Black Village website!  Enjoy!

Refreshments will be served!

Great discussion! Can't wait for our next meetup. By the way Torkwase was kind enough to suggest a app that we can use call "goodreads" which will help keep your collection of books read and need to read in order. Thanks Torkwase!

Remember most books can be reserved online at your library website using your library card and the pin they assigned to you. Then you just pick it up off the reserved shelf and check it out.

Torkwase, I think that is a great idea. How about every third Sunday from 3-5pm? We can change it our adjust as we see fit but for now perhaps we should try it for then. Thus far the new time does not conflict with any of the LBV CC current activities. So I will change our first meeting to February 16, 2014 at 3pm at same location. Let's see if we have more people RSVP. Thanks!

Hello Leslie. It looks like we'll only have a very small number of people attending this first book club meeting. What do you think about changing the day/time? Possibly a Sunday at 2 or 3 pm? Weekday evenings may be a little challenging for some. (Just a thought.)

It won't work for me at this time.

Just a question: Would anyone oppose to changing the venue of our first meeting? I was wondering if we can hold it at one of the schools I work for... Clark Atlanta University. Let me know as soon as you can. Thanks!
