Welcome the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra to Philadelphia !

On the heels of the wildly successful social dances held in NJ for the last few years, the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra is bringing the show to Philadelphia for a second monthly dance/concert. Come check the band out at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, located at 9130 Academy Road in Northeast Philadelphia (Academy Road and Willits Road - accessible via public transportation as well as by car) ! These social dance / concert events, will also take place on Sunday afternoons from 3-7 PM, monthly, throughout 2013! The day features one of the area's hottest contemporary big bands, the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra (http://www.mondaybluesjazz.com), for your listening and dancing pleasure. The band features some of the best instrumental musicians in the area as well as several of the areas hottest vocalists, performing contemporary music of all styles with a big band that is unlike anything that you have seen before. The music is great; suitable for both dancing AND listening, performed as only the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra can! There is a $15 per person door charge, as well as excellent food and refreshments available at an extra charge. The club does accept credit cards, and the band also has the ability to accept credit cards at the door. Reservations are not required for this event. Come out and have fun with an excellent band in a family friendly atmosphere, listen to great music, dance, and have a great time! Come out and welcome the Monday Blues Jazz Orchestra to Philadelphia !

Linda, Thank you very much for coming out, and we're happy that you enjoyed the band ! I hope that we'll get to see you again. As of now, we're not scheduled to be back until May, but we're trying to get a March or April date (unfortunately, we're being fit in where the club can fit us as their schedule was already set when we got together with them to set this event up). You should have come up and said hello ! My father was the one doing the announcing and conducting, and I play the lead saxophone. We're both members of the group. My mother was also one of the two women at the door. Make sure to say hello next time :-)

The band was great and it was good dancing too. Unfortunately due to the Super Bowl being on not as many people attended. This is scheduled to be on once a month so the more people hear about it the more people will come.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
