Let's see...I love Matt Good. David Usher, Metric, The Pretty Reckless, SLOT, Amy Lee, Radiohead and everything including hip/hop, mashup, screamo death metal. For me, there is nothing like the thrill of experiencing a great new musical form or talent live for the first time, and if it's not still vital, or doesn't present a challenge to my neurons, it's no longer an adventure. I'm not into jazz, country, middle of the road blues or any of the "mellow" crap I used to have to get drunk to stay awake through in the Toronto bars of my youth.(No offense intended, but most of the live stuff was pretty poorly done, unless I'd lived in LA, which I sadly did not!.) Haha! If it doesn't fit into any genre, all the better! It's just that music is truly one of the great joys in life and boring is not a compromise, it's death.
I like music that is new and edgy, and usually, nothing friends "my age" have ever heard of. It's no fun to drag friends to something they won't enjoy because they don't "get" the music or worse, cover their ears because it's too loud:P
I think I misunderstood. This show was sold out and although tickets were to be found at the last minute, I really think it should be explained to people that it is their responsibility to obtain tickets in advance. I will do so in future for acts that I really want to see. Because of this confusion, I missed Our Lady Peace:(
