SFJAZZ Hotplate in the Joe Henderson Lab
April 11 Hotplate featuring Scheherazade Stone playing the music of Gil Scott-Heron.
SFJAZZ Hotplate is a monthly concert series featuring Bay Area’s most gifted musicians re-imagining the music of jazz legends at the Joe Henderson Lab. The 2nd Thursday of every month, Hotplate aims to show another side of SFJAZZ, an informal setting where you can drop in for a drink and hear some of the best jazz the local scene has to offer. Between the 7PM and 9PM sets their will be a quick FRONT BURNER multi-media discussion about the life and times of the night's featured jazz legend, led by SFJAZZ Education Director Rebeca Mauleón. Make sure to show up early for each set as DJ Pat Les Stache spins some of the legend's best-known tracks before the live music begins. This is a seriously fun jazz hang and the joint is always packed!
This performance will consist of 3 separate sets: 7PM, 9PM & 10:30PM, so you must buy a ticket for which sets you want to attend. I will only be attending the 7pm set.
