Sharing Creativity: Poetry Critique Workshop

  • February 21, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Please join our poetry critique group. We meet to review our poems, provide constructive feedback and spend a creative evening together.

After you RSVP, send one or two poems to the organizer via email by the end of Monday before the workshop. Tuesday morning the organizer compiles the poems into a Microsoft Word document and distributes it to the participants. Please spend some quality time reviewing the submitted poems so you can provide feedback. Don't shortchange your fellow poets.

Since we sometimes can't cover all poems in one session, have some written feedback to give to the poet.

We meet in the cafe at the Barnes & Noble of Brier Creek.

Let's work together to improve our poems.

This was my first experience with poetry critique analysis
And after screening other entries I felt a kind of paralysis.
I write light verse that focuses on word play and joking.
Your works are far loftier and thought provoking.
However, your generosity dispelled my initial angst.
And for that I wish to express my sincerest thangst.

I have been writing poetry for a few years now. Most of it is (I hope) humorous (ala Ogden Nash). Lately I have been focusing on childrens poetry.. I welcome comments and especially constructive criticizm where necessary. Will email a few selections to your attention.
    Thanks, Tom Coyne

Feel free to RSVP to the workshop, if you'd like us to review a couple of poems.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
