How did you hear about Living Poetry?

"Kubla Khan (or A Vision in a Dream)" Coleridge

Why are you joining LP? What activities are you planning to attend?

Not that much. Early on it was the Sciences, then Music. Poetry is part of my personal "remedial reading" program.

Which poet or poetry book are you currently reading?

Coleridge, Dickenson, Homer, any Pulitzer Prize winner (U.S. 1919-present). Since 1980 I've been building a collection of reading copies of all Pulitzer winners. [continued from "Introduction" above] ... but I've also found that once you get into it, the "brave few"are a LOT more than you think. You'd be amazed how many oboists there are! For a long time now I've had the idea of a group reading classics aloud in period costumes. Imagine "Gulliver's Travels", or "Candide" in 18th Century dress. So this group is great! You get to read aloud without dressing up for it. ;-)

Introduction

Would love to take part in any "read aloud" group for adults. Before there was TV or Radio, people read aloud or made music for entertainment. I have a sentimental streak for "lost" arts that the brave few are trying to keep alive... [more below]
