What is your favorite quote?

"There is no such thing as a weird human being - it's just that some people require more understanding than others." (that may not be totally accurate, and I can't recall if it's from a book by Tom Robbins or Erica Jong, but I like it!)

What is your philosophy on life and living with chronic disease?

I don't know - it changes all the time.

Who inspires you and why?

My favorite Guru/Buddhist monk - he has been living with AIDS since about 1985, lives below the federal poverty level, and often has to choose between medicine and food. But he remains one of the most caring and kind people that I know. He is patient, compassionate and generous with his spirit and knowledge and truly wants others to lead the best life possible so that they can return to the next life in a better place than when they left.

What would your advice be to someone just beginning on a chronic disease journey?

Be patient with yourself. And be as kind to yourself as you would be to others in a similar situation.

Hi, I'm Mary. I've got Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. A friend of my step-mom told her about Fibro Zone, so I'm here checking things out. I often need a lot of help to stay positive!
