Chronic Illness Essay Contest

From: Danea H.
Sent on: Wednesday, May 15, 2013 2:05 PM

Hi! As I mentioned in my e-mail in March, this group has been on a hiatus as my health has taken a few twists in the past few months. It looks like the kidney transplant will be this year. I am thankful, scared and just about everything in between.

While I'm not currently available for meetups, I would encourage anyone interested in hosting or scheduling a meeting to suggest one. In the meantime, I will continue to provide you will resources regarding living a positive life as I come across them.

Also, I wanted to let you know about an essay contest I'm hosting.

Topic: Who inspires your chronic resilience?

We will be honoring 3 essays with a top prize of $250!

Share your story of appreciation and inspiration for a chance to win great prizes and have your story published on the Chronic Resilience and Creative Affirmations websites.

Entries are accepted from today through July 26th with the winner announced August 12th.

For all the details and official rules, visit: http://www.chronicresilience.com/essay-contest/

Lastly, I just finished reading "In the Kingdom of the Sick" by Laurie Edwards. It was a wonderful exploration of attitudes, activism and policy surrounding chronic illness in the U.S. I highly recommend it!!

Best,

Danea
