Hello, Live Meetuppers! On Monday Feb 6, 2006, Fran Strebel and Libby K will provide a presentation on "Tarot in the Qabalah". Fran and Libby are students of the Western Mystery Tradition, and will share their knowledgable, academic approach to tarot relationships in the Qabalah. Many of us read tarot using the Intuitive Method, but there are many readers everywhere who have learned and studied tarot extensively using the Academic Method. There is much to be known about mystical, sacred geometric, and astrological correlations within tarot. Fran and Libby will give us a sound basic review of the Qabalah as found within the tarot, and vice versa.

In January we moved our Meetup so that many of us could attend Lon Milo Duquette's fascinating lecture on this topic. Now those of you who missed Lon Milo will be able to learn some of this fascinating material. Come join us!

Plan to arrive around 6:45pm so that you can purchase a drink or small food in the Borders Cafe, in their store at Preston Road and Royal Lane. Browse their fine Metaphysical section in the right rear of the store, near the Children's books. They have many boxed sets of tarot and a locking glass case containing individual tarot decks.

Borders cleared the area near the cafe, brought in 35 comfortable chairs, and a presentation table, and in general prepared a very comfortable and dignified event area for all of us to enjoy, which we did! We are very appreciative of the Borders staff for bending over backwards to make us welcome, and successful! Fran Strebel gave us a very helpful and understandable explanation of the the Qabalic tree of life, and made clear many things not easily grasped in other venues. Libby K then provided an excellent talk on the tarot itself, correlating it to Qabalah and Western Mystery Tradition in general. She provided a view of the BOTA deck (Builders of the Adytum) which is intended to be colored by each owner personally, and a fine exposition of the books used by Fraternity of the Hidden Light in its studies. They provided handouts and allowed us to look at about fifteen excellent books. Bravo! ”
