Heritage Park Moonlight Hike

  • Aug 8, 2014 · 9:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

They call this Full Moon Fridays, it will repeat once per month through August.  There is a $3 fee per person.  You can register online at https://recreg.fhgov.com.  The lady I spoke with at the Nature Center said walk-ins should be fine, though, too.  Come early Jun-Aug for Free Family Campfires!  Btw, do Bring Bug Repellant!  I will try to remember to bring mine with me in case anyone forgets theirs.  Looking forward to sharing this delightful experience with some of you. This is a family event, so, feel free to bring the kids, dogs must stay home or in the car, though.  Sorry, not my rule.  Hope to see you there!

Heritage Park will actually have more night hikes, if anyone is interested, you will have to contact the park for times/dates, but, I am not going to post anymore of them, I think I've gone enough times.

I somehow did not see a single person from the grp, so, I have no idea who showed up and who didn't, though, it sounds like Rami did. Glad you enjoyed yourself, it was a much smaller grp this time and quite nice indeed.

Well, I am quite tire, so I am not sure about doing a hike this late in the evening. If I come, I will just show up at the time of the event.

Right now, it looks like I can do this. I plan to work this evening, but this will be a "nice" break. I hope to get out for some exercise. I sure miss the hikes on Saturdays.

This will be the last night hike for the yr at Heritage. I would like to try to get there a little early, if anyone is up for joining us, we can do some pre-night hiking. Also, there is some great open space for frisbee tossing, if anyone is interested in doing any of this, let us know and we will meet you after dinner, 7:15 pm by the Nature Center.

ya, know, maybe we will just have dinner there. bring some pizzas with us, that would be nice, meet some new people, have some nice conversation. We would be happy to share our food, unless too many of you show up. let's see how many of you like this idea and we'll go from there.

Went this Friday, and for those who haven't gone, I'd highly recommend the outing. The fireflies were *magical!* I'll also say to make sure you're wearing bug repellant, good shoes, and are ready to walk at a brisk pace, downhill uphill, and steep incline in the pitch black. A little scary, could be dangerous for those without good balance.

the fireflies were not out like I had seen them last yr. Also, I viewed them in a different part of the park.

If you want smores, you need to arrive prior to 8:30, pay $3 and they will give you a ticket.

For those of you who did not make it the last time. There is construction going on through the whole Summer, so, you can only access the park from 11 Mile, if you are coming from the East. If coming from the West, take 12 Mile. Avoid 10 Mile.
