  • This location is shown only to members

Please join other North Coast Gamers Greater Pittsburgh Area chapter Meetup members for a morning and afternoon of fun gaming and socializing from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.. That is seven whole hours of good times with great people in a grand location.

We plan to play at least some and up to as many of the following kinds of games as possible : Board Games, Card Games, Roleplaying Games, Strategy Games, Euro Games, Miniature War Games, Historical Games, Word Games, Trivia Games, Dice Games and Family Games. There will be multiple tables and chairs set up to accommodate several games to be played at the same time.

In addition, the attending members that RSVP ahead of time will be eligible for the prize drawings that will occur periodically during the event.

Anyone who decides to bring a guest with them MUST indicate exactly who they are bringing with them when they RSVP for this event. (We need to know for the purposes of planning as well as for other good reasons too.)

I've got my stack of games to bring. Right now, it looks like Eaten by Zombies, Space Hulk: Death Angel, Nile Deluxor, Shadows over Camelot, and Cosmic Encounter. I was considering bringing Thunderstone, but I'm in the process of unsleeving the cards, so I'd need help doing that with any cards we used.

4.0 game update. Everything is done and ready to go. Now to pack everything up and put it in the car.
Also I am bringing a surprise to the event for all to enjoy. No other hints will be given. See you all there.

Hey everyone! I want to stoke the coals on this one again... Don't forget that we have some OUTSTANDING raffle items to benefit the group. These games cost several hundred dollars and every one of them will go to lucky winners at the Bonanza! Please bring some extra spending money to purchase extra tickets to increase your chances. Tickets are $1.00 each and we will be running it as a 'chinese auction'...drop your raffle ticket in the bag assigned to each prize. By as many tickets as you can to increase your chances of winning!!! (All profits goes right back to the North Coast Gamers to purchase even more prizes in the future!)

    1 · November 1, 2012

      A former member

The way a Chinese auction works is pretty simple: we will have 20-something prizes on a shelf. Each prize will have a sticker with a number on it. Throughout the day, people can buy tickets and, after they fill out the info on the ticket, they drop it into a paper bag that has a corresponding number written on the bag that matches the game. Near the end of he day, we call 'time' for the ticket sales. We then draw a ticket out of bag#1 for game #1 and do that for each of the games. So, if you really really like game #18, you cam buy a ton of tickets and throw them all into bag #18 or spread your tickets out. All games are drawn sequentially, so you will have to drop in all your chances before the raffle starts for any of the games.

      November 2, 2012

    • Bill N.

Okay, that sounds much better than what I usually hear people call a chinese auction. I'll have to check out the prize list to plan ahead.

Another friendly reminder : Each member will be permitted to possibly win multiple prizes. You may purchase as many raffle tickets as you want to. You will choose which games you want to possibly win by deciding for yourself where your raffle tickets will go. There are ATMs in stores nearby should you find yourself in need of more cash for the almost 30 different game prize raffles. Regardless, your kind donations will go right back into supporting the payment of the NCG-GPA's meetup fees and also into future Gaming Bonanza prize offerings too. With your generous support, the NCG-GPA thrives. With your continued active participation, the NCG-GPA grows bigger and better every day. We look forward to our biggest "Brom & the North Coast Gamers Greater Pittsburgh Area's Gaming Bonanza" this year on Saturday, 11/3. So far, 82 members have RSVPed "Yes" which is huge! Thanks again to ALL of YOU for being NCG-GPA members. :)

    November 1, 2012

  • Brutal Brom the Barbarian B.

Friendly reminder : There is FREE parking in the host location lot. There is also FREE parking on ALL of the side streets and throughout the entire neighborhood. In addition, if need be, there are 1 quarter per hour meter parking lots all nearby too. (Most of the meters can be set up to 4 hours at a time.) There are nearby bus stops as well. There are many fast food joints nearby and stores too. You are permitted to bring in food with you. Also, you are allowed to use the refridgerator and microwave. In short, all of the possible parking spots and food choices are within easy walking distance of the host location.

Halloween in Bridgeville starts at 6 p.m.. Brom's Gaming Bonanza ends at 5 p.m. At least you will get to play games with us for most of the day. ;)

    October 30, 2012

      October 30, 2012

  • Brutal Brom the Barbarian B.

Yes, Brom & the NCG-GPA's Gaming Bonanza on 11/3 is going to be spectacular! There are plenty of tables and chairs for everyone to use, as well as many places to find food and parking around the host location. Though car pooling is a fine idea. We will also have use of the main hallway and places for additional tables to be set up if need be. That being said, the members are welcome to bring additional chairs and tables if they want to, just in case we need them. Some people have done so before. It never hurts to have extra chairs and tables in the trunk of your car, along with the games you are bringing to share with others. On another note, you do NOT have to be present when the raffle prizes are awarded. You will simply arrange to meet me somewhere at another time if you have to leave early due to work, other commitments or being worn out. Regardless, I still strongly recommend that everyone arrive at 10 a.m. and stay until 5 p.m. to maximize the amount of fun you will enjoy. :)

Just curious... Is anyone up for a Mordheim game at the Bonanza? If so, I can set up a terrain board and have a couple of scenarios ready.

Jots a miniature game and can take as long as a couple of hours depending on the scenario, but the ones I will run will be about 1 hour. The game is meant to be a campaign that people play for many, many scenarios, slowly building p their war bands and becoming more powerful

      October 9, 2012

    • John S.

I'd try mordheim if your willing to teach and have the pieces I could borrow to play!

Wow! This looks fantastic! I'll have to check with the family to see what all our plans are for the weekend. I unfortunately believe that this is the weekend my wife has her company picnic, but if not, I'll bring Agricola! With some random decks, like X and the legendary deck.

I will be bringing Memoir 44, and Last Night on Earth if anyone wants to learn/play a game.

    October 26, 2012

    • Dan

A game of Memoir should only take 30-60 a game when you are learning the rules. Once you know how to play the game, I think it should only 20-40 a game. My friend Dennis and I can play 3-4 games over a 2 hour period. If anyone is interested in Last Night, the game supports up to 6 people ;)

      October 27, 2012

    • Robert G.

I have played the online Memoir 44 version, but not the physical game.

I am adding another game to the Raffle for you historical / miniature fans: Open Fire, Flames of War Box set. Complete WWII set of rules, tanks, infantry, and more. a $70 game! We have a fantastic list for the auction, so please come to the event, have fun, and bring some extra cash to get more raffle tickets! You can win a lot of great new games with incredible odds to win. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds AND best of all is the fact that all of the money we make from selling raffle tickets goes right back to the chapter for more prizes inthe future!!!!

    October 26, 2012

Time to break out the piggy bank for raffle tickets ;)

I am bringing Sentinels of the Multiverse, have received my copy of the enhanced edition. It is great! I recommend that anyone interested who is not familiar read up on the forums for the game. Rulebook is also available there. Also look for the strategy guides to each hero, will be quite useful.

Been mostly battling against Baron Blade so far. Will have to try the other villains out.

Hi Regina. I was holding Mice & Mystics in my hands for about 30 minutes today while perusing the local game shop here in Cleveland. I held off burning too much cash and left that on on the shelf. I would love to learn/play next week!

      October 26, 2012

    • Regina H.

I bought it on pre-order for a discount myself. I haven't played yet but I hope to try it out before next week. If not, we can both learn then!
