Carnaval San Francisco, the weekend of May 24th and 25th, is the largest multi-cultural celebration on the West Coast. It consists of a Festival with music and dancing from 10am-6pm both days and a Parade on Sunday the 25th, taking inspiration from Mardi Gras and Brazilian Carnaval Parades, and is Family Friendly. It attracts a crowd of some 400,000. And we need volunteers to make this happen. You can do things like ticket taking, parade marshals, crowd control, greeters/donation takers, hosts for the bands and parade members, cleanup and more. Roles are assigned on a first come first served basis.
This meetup organizer is the Volunteer Coordinator for this event. I'm a volunteer too. It's a great way to be part of a major event and not only a spectator. And besides, you get a cool tee shirt, breakfast and lunch, and the happy feeling of contributing to an awesome event. So, if you want to volunteer, RSVP to this event and I will follow up with you with specifics. We'll have social events leading up to the Carnaval. And after the parade, you can have a great time at the festival.
