The Big Blue Marble - An Introduction to the Night Sky

Have you gazed up at the dark sky and marveled at the beauty of the twinkling stars and wanted to know more about them? Can you spot the planets among the other pinholes in the canopy of the night? Have you looked back in time 30, 40 or 50 million years? Do you want to know what the recent fuss about meteors and comets is about?

Please join us as Joseph Conrad, an avid amateur astronomer and Lohan Priest, presents an introduction to astronomy, the night sky and how they expand our understanding of impermanence. The talk will be about an hour long, followed immediately (weather permitting) by “eyes-on” in the parking lot with telescopes and binoculars.

This event is free and open to wonderer’s of all ages.

Donations are accepted to support the Lohan Spiritual and Cultural Center (and all donations are tax deductible).

Glad so many could come out and learn and share. Not the darkest sky (ok not very dark at all), but we were still able to view Saturn, Jupiter, the Moon and the Orion Nebula.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
