Melissa Scott-Miller NEAC will lead a workshop exploring drawing for painting - what do you need to look for and how do you gather and record information, and then how do you develop the drawings for paintings. A practical workshop for which you will need sketchbooks and drawing materials.

Townscapes in Watercolour, Paul Newland NEAC
Paul Newland NEAC RWS will lead a workshop on using watercolour to paint buildings and the urban environment.
A day suitable for beginners and the more experienced, Paul will discuss and demonstrate different techniques and approaches to use this most intractable medium, go through necessary equipment and lead a practical session working from observation and in the studio. Bring any watercolour kit you may have, paper and drawing materials.

Jason Bowyer PNEAC will give a demonstration of the use of pastel with other drawing media, including washes and reed pens. An insight into this exciting and challenging method of working; pastels are often seen as a delicate and amateurish medium, but Jason’s tough approach and industrial paintings will soon counter this impression.
