EXTERNAL EVENT - but with LAAG's (much loved!) Roger Cawkwell & Saxophone Choir

This is not a LAAG organised event, but one of LAAG's principal and much loved members, Roger Cawkwell is one of the band. More details below, and we recommend these events for a lovely mix of music styles that should appeal to most people. A thoroughly nice way to spend an hour! (most of these performances, in various places around London parks last an hour):

MORE DETAILS:

"The London Saxophone Choir, formed in February 2008, is a group of enthusiastic Saxophone players who rehearse most weeks within walking distance of Pimlico and Victoria Stations. We have an inclusive membership policy (no auditions) and draw members from all walks of life and from across London. We play specially arranged music in a variety of styles; baroque, classical, modern(ish) and jazz and give formal concerts from time to time as well as playing on numerous bandstands in the Summer, switching to carol concerts in the Winter. Our core instrumentation includes soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes with sopranino and bass added from time to time"

Several more bandstand gigs (all free!) in or around London in the next couple of months. Details: http://www.londonsaxophonechoir.org.uk/

The bandstand concert will start promptly at 3.00 and finish, probably equally promptly, at 4.00 whereupon the entire band will troop over the road to the Fox on the Hill (a Wetherspoons) loudly demanding alcoholic refreshment. Deckchairs provided.

It is in fact one of a series of free Saturday afternoon concerts through July and September in Ruskin Park.
