For this month's social meetup, we're delighted to be joined by Katherine Stewart, Journalist / Author "The Good News Club". Dan Barker mentioned Katherine and her work at his event in London with us, and Katherine seems to be making a lot of waves due to her taking on of the radical right in America.
Katherine has been trying to combat the radical right in America. "The radical right is on a mission. But are they REALLY trying to use the public schools to turn your children into religious warriors?" (American TV clip with Thom Hartman)
Katherine wanted to meet U.K. atheists on her visit to London and she'll primarily be spending time with us informally, having a drink and a chat. She's also give us a short talk (about 20 minutes or so) offering an overview of the religiously driven initiatives in American state schools, and is happy to take any questions afterwards.
Should be a nice mix of social and learning time!
