COMPULSORY Q (no membership if not answered): Pls describe yr position on religion/faith e.g. atheist, naturalist, 'agnostic', religious doubter, religious, OR any description that best describes you. (Not to label you, just to know group make-up)

COMPULSORY Q: Why do you want to join? (if faith/religion bothers you, what aspects in particular? (Helps us tailor activities to your concerns (within our remit of "peacefully promote reason/atheism")). Pls write as much or as little as you like.

I will be honest here, I, until 2 yrs ago didn't have much of an opinion on religion other than I was skeptical. When my father died I was very angry and people told me he will be better off in heaven, don't worry he's in a better place etc. Which I rejected. I started to look into the atheism v theism argument and came across a brilliant man, one I'd wished I'd heard of perform his passing, the late great Christopher Hitchens and through his debates I was introduced to Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris. These 3 people changed my entire thinking and since then I have been telling everyone I know about my new way of thinking but most people don't want to hear it so I am hoping to find like minded people son I can share my passion and hopefully contribute to changing the mainstream view on religion.

Where did you hear about us?

I Googled Atheist Groups in North London.

(You're welcome as a social or even a silent member, & there's absolutely no pressure - but would you want to be involved (at some stage) in actively challenging faith in any way? Petitions, leafleting etc, or something else?

Absolutely. I am a strong pacifist so would never use violence unless I am protecting myself or a loved one. But I will stand up and be counted for the sake of reason and truth.

If so, what kind of issues are most emotive for you? What kind of activism do you prefer - humourous/cheeky or more direct? Any other ideas you'd like to share at the moment?

I must admit a love the humorous, witty style of Christopher Hitchens. However there is a time and place for humour and then there is a time and place for direct, blunt speaking.

Hi Adrian, I would like to become a member as atheism has become very important to me, a passion to be honest. Since my father passed 2yrs ago I have been angry with religion and I want to help spread atheism and help people see truth and reason.
