COMPULSORY Q: Why do you want to join? (if faith/religion bothers you, what aspects in particular? (Helps us tailor activities to your concerns (within our remit of "peacefully promote reason/atheism")). Pls write as much or as little as you like.

I don't believe it is a good model of the truth. I like to believe the truth and explore fantasy. i know we can't know the truth but religious explanation is pretty poor in the face of recent knowledge, esp Evo Devo. I think the creativity, solace, love etc. religion gives can come from elsewhere, more fundamental, more real and more visionary. I'd like a 'space' that offers sanctuary to religious escapees that doesn't condemn religion but does allow escapees and objectors to voice all they think and feel. Ie not actively trying to destroy religion just being an alternative.

Where did you hear about us?

(You're welcome as a social or even a silent member, & there's absolutely no pressure - but would you want to be involved (at some stage) in actively challenging faith in any way? Petitions, leafleting etc, or something else?

yes but i don't want to get hurt. I'd like to do a long hike for sharing peace and awe etc. I kind of have a need to acknowledge the wonder and awe of it all and receive solace when i'm blue but not from an abusive, malevolent old geezer in the sky. Have you read the monotheistic gods' 'true words'? hurty hurty. i've probably said too much. You break the sod, I plant the seed, we water it.

If so, what kind of issues are most emotive for you? What kind of activism do you prefer - humourous/cheeky or more direct? Any other ideas you'd like to share at the moment?
